Coach Lemily Tournament Summary: I thought the team played inspired basketball in this tournament. I will never fault their effort. They posted wins over Jackson Co, E. Jessamine, Corbin, and South Laurel. We really should of made it farther but were unable to. We played poor transition and help defense and Betsy Layne executed better than us down the stretch. They were a talented opponent and deserved to win. Rarely do we lose a game that we hit 9 three point shots in but we did. It was a successful season at 27-6. This core group will always be remembered for their careers at Moss as they posted a record of 58-6 and won the 2009 State Championship. I will really miss them and look forward to their careers at Warren Central. I can wait to see them win the big one at Rupp.

Lemily Postgame: I was really pleased with the team as a whole. Our effort was great for four quarters. Aaron Strange went out of the game in the first quarter with injury so the team had to overcome some adversity. The bench really responded well. Mark Dice and Byron Carver combined to give us 8 points and 13 rebounds in his absence. Scooter Winn had an excellent game with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Lemily Postgame: The team played very well offensively. Four players scored in double figures. We did give up way too many points. Our press must improve if we want to accomplish our goals this season. Wayne Baird played an exceptional game he had 20 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. It was a balanced attack and a nice win against a quality team.

He was in the zone and seemingly could not miss!

Lemily's Tournament Analysis: The tournament was long. We played 7 games in 13 hours on Sat. Our boys fought hard in the finals and nearly defeated a well rested and talented Butler co. team. Including the championship we played back to back to back. We had a 2 point lead and the ball with under a minute remaining. We just couldn't quite pull it off as we fell by 2. We did register wins over Grayson co., Glasgow, Barren co., Bowling Green, Drakes Creek, and Allen co. during the tournament. I was so proud of my players and their effort Sat. They were playing on pure adrenaline and fighting cramps and fatigue at the end. Wayne Baird and Aaron Srange were named to the all tournament team.

Lemily's Postgame: This game was very disappointing to all of us. I was sick after the game and so were the players. After a 20 point first half lead this was a hard pill to swallow. I will credit Glasgow on a nice effort. We just could not score the second half and were in foul trouble the entire night. I was most disappointed in our defensive effort. We have never given up 40 in a game so giving up 52 was unbelievable. We didn't move our feet and were slow in help defense with our rotations all night. Glasgow seemed to get every loose ball and make all the hustle plays. Hopefully we learned we must play like state champs for 4 quarters because we have a target on our back every night. We will be back and hopefully better for this. Mark this down (GLASGOW here JAN 5th)

Aaron Stange recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Wayne Baird scored 12. Mark Dice gave us a nice contribution off the bench with 6 points. He was perfect shooting for the night. He was 2 of 2 from the field including a three and 1of 1 from the line. It was a nice effort by the entire team on the road.
