It has been a challenging year so far. The Dragons lost many 8th graders to the high school but have reloaded with a slew of 7th graders. Communication has been our main concern this year with so many new faces. The Dragons started out on a high note by winning the tournament hosted by Franklin Simpson. The following Monday we faced a loss to Madisonville, 2-0. Bringing the team together is a challenge and we are trying to concentrate on the fundamentals. I have been very proud of the team overall. We played a very strong opponent on Saturday in Meade County. They played especially well in the 2nd half and won the game 18-8. They were very good in 2007 when we defeated them 26-12. It is nice to see you are against a challenging team. I don't question our effort but our execution was not where it needs to be. We will improve in that area. Coach Lemily
Offensive Standouts : Scooter Winn ( 4 rushes for 61 yards, 2 receptions for 15 yds) Chris Porter ( commanded the offense well and had a rushing touchdown )
Defensive Standouts : Eli Brown set the pace with 8 tackles Raymond Green played well at cornerback in his Moss debut

Overall I was pleased with our effort this weekend. Although we lost three games we played fairly well. Our main problem, which we knew ahead of time, was our hitting. With only seven days of practice prior to playing it was difficult to get everything worked in. With this being the first of three games of a possible 32 game season, I feel that we will make needed progress with each game. Coach Curry
